The Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta Hotel

I love the fountain in the motor court of the Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta Hotel.  It changes colors from pink, purple, red and green.  With cars going in and out the light stream made for a fun photo.  This was processed in Photomatix using 3 exposures ranging from 13-30 seconds.  View this photo and more Pictures of Atlanta at www.CarsonMatthewsPhotography.com/PicturesofAtlanta

Peachtree Boulevard at Night

This picture was taken last night during a spontaneous trip out to take some pictures.  I am standing on Peachtree Road looking south towards the intersection of Piedmont Road.  On the right are the Terminus Building and the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

City of Atlanta Night Skyline HDR

I took this shot from the Jackson Street Bridge overlooking Freedom Parkway, looking west towards the City of Atlanta night skyline.  It was a cold and windy night which made me nervous of camera shake despite my tripod, but on top of that the continuous traffic over the bridge would surely turn out a shaky picture…but I think it turned out pretty well.  This is an HDR shot using three exposures totaling close to a minute.  Let me know what you think in the comments.

The Varsity

I got this shot of the Varsity, the world’s largest drive-in restaurant located in Midtown Atlanta on a chilly night this week around 10:30pm.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Traffic

I was most excited about this week’s photo challenge subject “traffic”.  This envelopes one of those dream shots I seriously think about all the time.  The timing for a shot like that could not be more inconvenient, and the location in my mind isn’t easy either.  Unfortunately it’s been raining all week in Atlanta which made the shot even less likely to happen.  At the very last hour I went into Buckhead near the triangle intersection of Peachtree Rd, Roswell Rd, West Paces Ferry Rd & East Paces Ferry Rd.  I took close to 150 shots of cars going by and was not thrilled at all, and while walking back to my car this awesome Marta bus came strolling through the intersection and I caught it.

It is advertising the new exhibit at the High Museum of Art, Picasso to Warhol.  You can get more info on the exhibit here http://www.high.org/Visit/Landing-Pages/Picasso-to-Warhol-Tickets.aspx.
