Bike Ride on the Chattahoochee River

Yesterday I dusted off my mountain bike and went for a ride on the paths along the Chattahoochee River.  I wasn’t really looking for some wild outdoor adventure, more of a way to cover some ground and find something cool to take pictures of.

I went to the Paces Mill entrance just off of Cobb Parkway.  There were tons of people there fishing, walking, biking and just hanging around.  The path is paved and becomes hilly like all things in Atlanta.  There are places you can jump off the path and escape into the woods, but I think they are better suited for walking/running than bike riding.  I’ll have to investigate more and see what I find.  Here is a map of the 48 mile stretch along the river. http://www.nps.gov/pwr/customcf/apps/maps/showmap.cfm?alphacode=chat&parkname=Chattahoochee%20River%20National%20Recreation%20Area

It’s pretty cool to have that resource so close to home.  Here are some of the pictures I got. They can also be seen on www.PicturesofAtlanta.com.
